SMS Terms & Conditions

These SMS Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the text messaging program provided by Jeffrey Orr Law PC ("Firm," "we," "us," or "our"). By opting in to receive SMS text messages from the Firm, you agree to these Terms.


1. SMS Program Description

Jeffrey Orr Law PC uses SMS text messaging to communicate with clients and prospective clients regarding customer care and administrative matters related to legal services.


Text messages may include:

  • Consultation scheduling and confirmations;
  • Appointment reminders;
  • Case-related administrative updates;
  • Requests for documents or information;
  • Billing and payment notifications;
  • Responses to client inquiries;
  • Other communications related to your legal matter.


The Firm's SMS program is not used to send promotional or marketing messages unless you separately provide consent to receive marketing communications.


2. Consent to Receive Text Messages

By providing your mobile telephone number and affirmatively opting in to receive SMS messages from the Firm, you consent to receive text messages at the mobile number provided.


You may Opt-In by:

  • Checking an SMS consent checkbox during the Firm's intake process;
  • Signing a written agreement containing SMS consent language; or
  • Providing written or electronic consent through another approved firm process.


Consent to receive SMS messages is voluntary and is not a condition of obtaining legal services.


3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your legal matter, appointments, and communications with the Firm.

You may receive messages as needed to provide customer care and administrative support.


4. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Charges may be imposed by your wireless carrier according to your mobile plan.


5. Opt-Out Instructions

You may stop receiving SMS messages at any time by replying:

STOP

After you send STOP, you will receive a confirmation message, and you will no longer receive SMS messages from the Firm unless you provide consent again.

Please do not send confidential legal information by text message unless specifically instructed by the Firm.


7. Supported Carriers

SMS message delivery is subject to your wireless carrier's network availability. Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.


8. Privacy and Data Use

Your privacy is important to us. Information collected through our SMS program is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

SMS consent and mobile telephone numbers are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

We do not sell or rent your mobile telephone number or SMS consent information for advertising or promotional purposes.


9. Confidentiality Notice

Text messaging is not a secure method of communication. While the Firm takes reasonable measures to protect client information, you should not send confidential documents, privileged communications, or sensitive legal information through SMS.


The Firm may direct you to use a secure client portal, encrypted email, or another secure communication method for confidential communications.


10. Eligibility

By opting in to receive SMS messages, you confirm that:

  • You are the authorized user of the mobile telephone number provided; and
  • You have authority to consent to receive SMS messages at that number.


11. Changes to These Terms

The Firm may update these SMS Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
